The Doseo center officially opened its doors on December 16, 2014, at a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by French Minister of State for Higher Education and Research Geneviève Fioraso, who was welcomed by CEA Chief Administrator Bernard Bigot and representatives of Doseo’s founding partner organizations: National Cancer Institute (INCA) President Dr. Agnès Buzyn, National Metrology and Testing Laboratory (LNE) Director Jean-Luc Laurent, and Director of INSTN Xavier Vitart. Several local elected officials and business leaders also attended (Essonne district representative Maud Olivier, Essonne General Council Vice President David Ros, and Elekta France CEO François Pointurier, among others).

The Doseo center for research and development in radiotherapy technology, operated by CEA LIST, was set up to build relationships with and between all radiotherapy stakeholders to improve radiotherapy and associated medical imaging technologies while minimizing the associated risks.

The center has three missions:

  • Innovate technological solutions for tomorrow’s systems
  • Improve control of radiotherapy systems to deliver maximum patient safety
  • Train radiotherapy students and practicing professionals on the latest systems
